Gone Digital, Baby.

So I JUST NOW got a Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet (!!!) and I haven't been able to stop messing with it. Digital painting, guys!

Woohoo!

So, I stole this sketch off the internet so that I could practice coloring. I did this nice night lighting, and then I wanted to see how hard it would be to change the color key after everything was done, and it was just about the easiest thing ever.

I am so excited about this.

Old Man

I drew this one in my spare time a few years ago, just for the heck of it. We didn't do any portraiture in the classes I was taking at the time, and I really missed it. People are my favorite subjects. This is just done in graphite pencil. It's surprisingly easy to do something like this; come to my art classes and I'll show you.

Dog

These pictures were some quick sketches in preparation for the assignment from the previous post. It's actually just a couple inches big, done in ball point pen and permanent marker.

For some reason, when I put this on my DeviantArt account, people just went crazy over it. It was in the "Most Popular" section of the website for weeks. So that was cool.

Yay Blog!

Now, to get started: I chose to start out with the above picture because, quite frankly, it was the only picture I was able to successfully upload. I was going to start with some of my older stuff, but what the heck, I'll figure it out soon enough.

This picture was done for my Drawing II class. It was an assignment on color isolation and creative cropping. It's the kind of picture that art teachers and students just love, but that no one else really even likes. It was done with black and white charcoal and acrylic paint.

Over and out.
